Horizonte Beach is situated approximately 490 km north of Maputo on a good tarred road and 35 km south of the town of Inhambane on the coast. The road leading to the resort is a dirt road and is only accessible with a 2x4 with diff-lock, not towing, or 4x4 vehicle. With an airport only 30 km away and just outside Inhambane city, fly-ins and transfers can be arranged. Vehicles are allowed to launch boats, canoes and kayaks from the beach. Your vehicle can be parked on the beach and driving on the beaches is not permitted. Quad bikes and motor cycles are not allowed on beaches in Mozambique. Praia de Paindane, Inhambane

From Komatipoort, Lebombo border post, passing through the Moambo tollgate, it is 80 km to Maputo. At the Matola traffic light intersection make a left turn. Go through the Maputo tollgate. Take the off-ramp to Xai-xai. Follow the tar road for 430 km. At Lindela the road split to Maxixe and Inhambane. Take the right turn to Inhambane. Approximately 25 km after the split you will find a group of large resort name boards on your right. Turn of from the tar road onto a red dirt road. Follow the road and again you will come to a split in the road, keep on the right until a T-junction. Now engage to 4x4 and deflate your tyres to 0.8 bar. Turn right and follow the small Horizonte boards.
