Paradise Beach Lodge is the “hidden jewel" of Mozambique, situated on the North Bank of the 40sq Km Salt water Pomene Bay Estuary with the beach to the one side. A piece of “Paradise” in more ways than one as it caters for water sport enthusiasts from all spheres. The best being for the deep sea angler with his boat being launched the day he arrives and only taken out the day he leaves……… The Hidden Jewel of Mozambique, “Paradise Beach Lodge” Pomene invites you and your loved ones to come and relax and enjoy this piece of Heaven situated on the Indian Ocean coastline of Mozambique, on the North Bank of Pomene Bay. As our Jewel “Paradise Beach Lodge” was built on service, our client comes first. We have spent our time training our staff to attend to each and every clients needs at “Paradise Beach Lodge”. From your arrival to departure a dedicated staff member will attend to all your needs, no request is too big or too small, be it to bake you bread, or wash your clothes, or clean the many fish you catch, the staff will ensure a relaxing stay. Paradise Beach Lodge units, consists of luxuriously, yet rustic appointed thatched lodges offering elegance and simplicity. Much thought and detail have gone into the finishes with tiled bathrooms, wooden or rustic counter tops, each unit having its own range of finishes and appeal. The layout has ensured privacy for each unit and sea and Estuary views. Awakening at sunrise and looking out, there is nothing better than the sunrise over the Pomene Bay. Each day brings another perspective to your experience. All the bedrooms at “Paradise Beach Lodge” have twin ¾ beds or one king size bed and are equipped with mosquito nets and linen, bath towels and are within 30m of the “Pomene North Bank” waters edge. Our lodges have running water, with hot water being supplied by gas geysers. Water is supplied from a spring and is crystal clear. The kitchens are fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, gas freezers and two plate gas stoves (much thought going in to ensure fully equipped); just bring your own food, beach towels and beach chairs. Each lodge has a fully trained staff member to clean, wash and assist you with food preparation. 4 bedroom units – 4 en-suite bedrooms all separate of 30sqm each with a lounge/dining room/kitchen of 78sqm. The bedrooms allow for extra beds to be put in should a family have small children. Four families can stay in these units and still maintain their privacy while holidaying together. (We have three units) 2 Bedroom Units – 2 en-suite bedrooms interlinked by the lounge/dining room/kitchen for families who want children close at hand or two families wanting to maintain privacy while holidaying together. (We have five units) “Paradise Beach Lodge” has a generator which offers power from sundown to 10pm each night and longer in season should the guest require or over Christmas and New ACTIVITIES OFFERED Deep Sea Fishing: On the day you arrive you put your boat in the estuary and this is where it remains safe and secure until the day you leave, no need to take it out on a daily basis. Deep sea fishing in Pomene Bay will test any top anglers skills and there tackle. The best Fishing to be had is between October and June, although no boat has come in empty handed as yet. Species likely to be encountered are King and Queen Mackerel, Queen Fish, Wahoo, Ignobilis King Fish, Bonito, Dog Tooth Tuna, Yellow fin Tuna, Ambacor, Pick Handle and True Barracuda, with Bill Fish being landed during the summer months. Fly Fishing: Warm water currents bring game fish right inshore and large Kingfish (Trevally), Bonito, Queen Fish and many others can be caught on fly from the beach, in the estuary and from boats drifting close inshore. There are some very shallow reefs from 44m to 6m which produces all your game species and is ideal for the fly fishing enthusiast. Fishing Charters: Guests can charter a fully equipped lodge boat with an experienced skipper, who knows the waters well for Deep Sea, Fly Fishing, and Drop Shot Fishing. Details like bait and tackle are taken care of on board the charter. Rock and surf fishing: Pomene North Bank has kilometers and kilometers of productive fishing beaches which await you, whether you are spooning, plugging, drop shotting or throwing Bait. Cuta, snoek, many a kingfish (GT, Ignobolis, bluefin, big eye), stump nose, lemon sharks, blacktip reef sharks, blackfin, duckbill, brown skates, sand sharks, pompano, to name just a few being landed. Many a kingfish are caught in the mouth and cuta in the estuary. Guided Rock and Surf Trips can also be arranged. Scuba Diving: Pomene Bays diving areas are rated as being in the top five Diving sites in the world. The variety of marine life is amazing... Shallow and deepwater reefs reveal beautiful creatures such as the leatherback turtles, sailfish and manta rays. Within 22km’s we have 12 regular Dive sites to be explored for all level of divers. Kite Surfing: Long white sand banks and beaches within the Pomene Bay and Estuary and consistent wind offers fantastic kite surfing conditions and has been deemed to be one of the world class kite surfers destinations, and one of its best kept secrets. Surfing: The Beach at Pomene has some ideal wave sets and can be enjoyed by all. During certain periods the waves are said to rival anything available at top surf spots, with warm water and far from the maddening crowds Estuary Cruises, Kayaking, Canoeing, and Paddle Ski’s in fact any water sport can be undertaken at Paradise Beach Lodge, Pomene Bay with success…. Bird Watching: It is great to see that the bird life has returned over the years and with fish eagles, flocks of flamingos, saddlebilled storks, bat hawks, kingfishers, broad billed weavers and many a crows. Further down the mangroves the incessant calls can be heard waiting to be explored. RESTUARANT “Paradise Beach Lodge” has a Restuarant and Bar called "Footprints" set on the waters edge. AREA INFORMATION
Paradise is situated on a 40sq km Salt water Estuary which has a mouth leading into the sea and has a beach nearby. As we are situated on the Estuary and near the beach, the best of both worlds is available to you. No driving down each day to launch your boat, walk out of your unit and you are on the waters edge. Pomene is one of the few places that you get to see the rare dugong, snorkel in the estuary seeing juvenile fish and the rare sea horses. We have flamingos roaming the beaches, still able to find live pansy shells and cowries. It is still safe for your children to roam the beaches. Within the area you are able to take go and visit the old "Pomene Hotel" which is said to have hosted many a royal family in the past. Where Leopard used to run free and still holds beauty. It is a nice hike. Horse riding and quad bike hire can be arranged nearby. Do not forget to bring a lilo, the estuary is so still at low tide that one can lie in peace with the crystal clear water lapping the edges and keeping one cool

We are situated on the North Bank of Pomene, which lies 650km north of Maputo (170km's before Vilancoulos) The last town you come to being Massinga, the turn off to our lodge is 8km's outside of town and we are 8kms's outside Massinga you have the turn-off and we are situated about 64km's from there. Route is sign posted and, our gps co-ordinates are:- S 22 51 916 E035 31 585 WE DO RECOMMEND 4X4'S OR IF NOT TOWING A 4X2 WITH DIFFLOCK WILL MAKE IT PROVIDING YOU DEFLATE YOUR TYRES.
