The Kavita Lion Lodge in north western Namibia, borders on the Etosha National Park and is the ideal base from which to venture into Damaraland and Kaokoland. The lodge also hosts the Afri-Leo Foundation which is dedicated to the conservation and protection of the Namibian Lion (Panthera leo). Kavita Lion Lodge accommodates 16 guests in spacious, well-appointed en-suite bedrooms, each with a view either of the garden or the indigenous bushveld. Five recently completed thatched chalets overlooking a waterhole, offer our guests comfort as well as privacy. Guided activities at Kavita Lion Lodge include open-vehicle game and nature drives, bush walks, birding trails and an introduction to the Afri-Leo Foundation. Meals are served outdoors under a thatched lapa and the evening is greeted with a well-deserved sundowner around an enchanting fire. Kavita Lion Lodge organises two excursions. The first visits the Himba people on a day excursion to villages in the Opuwo district. The other is a 3-day safari to Epupa Falls on the Kunene River and Himba villages. Both these excursions need to be organised in advance.
