the well known Waterberg is situated about 280 km north of Windhoek, halfway to Etosha Nationalpark. The unique region of Waterberg is internationally famous for its vast variety of species of flora and fauna. The national nature conservancy of Waterberg Nationalpark, which surrounds Waterberg Wilderness Lodge, has the benefit of the highest protective status, as especially threatened species of animals are living here, e. g. buffalos, rhinos, leopards, vultures and all sorts of antelopes.
