Ramsgate is best known not only for it superb beach but internatinally for The Waffle House, formally the Tea House of the Blue Lagoon. Take a stroll over the Restaurants bridge into the mini mangrove and find in the middle a facinating echo experience. Equally gaining popularity is the Seafood Blue Lagoon Restaurant situated in the car park of Ramsgate Beach There are also a large modern shopping malls in the area Close by there is the Pure Vernom Sanke & Reptile Park, Skyline Nature Reserve where you can find at least 300+ indigenous coastal tree species, 400+ exotic tree spieces. You can also go inland to Oribi Gorge and visit the international protected Oribi Gorge where not only does it give you amazing geo rock formations but boasts the highest swing in the world, also the longest foofy-slide. Cross the Gorge and a hanging bridge for an exciting view of those taking the plunge with the Origi Gorge falls in the back ground, or have tea, lunch at Oribi Gorge Hotel. Close by is the Echo Valley Coffee farm open to the public and sample coffees. Also well worth a visit is the Lake Eland for its bushman cave in the gorge and hanging bridge where fish eagles reside. Equally famous is the Leopards Rock with a restaurant worth a try.
