On the shores of the Knysna Lagoon you'll find Amanzi Island Lodge, a tranquil beachhouse on Leisure Isle with spectacular views of the Knysna Heads and Featherbed Nature Reserve. Knysna is centrally situated in the Garden Route, and as such Amanzi Island Lodge is the perfect place to base yourself for a few days as you explore the many activities in the area: GOLF - Pezula and Knysna and Simola Golf Courses are all within 15 minutes drive from the Lodge. Goose Valley and Plettenberg Bay golf course are half an hour from the Lodge, and Fancourt is a 60 minute drive from Knysna. SAILING and FERRY TRIPS: Head out to sea on a sunset sail with Spring Tide Yacht Charters or simply have a lazy trip around the lagoon on one of the Featherbed Ferries. Both terminals are a 10 minute drive from the Lodge. WHALE WATCHING: Whales and dolphins are present on our coastline throughout the year, but the best time for viewing is during the winter months when the Southern Right and Humpback whales swim down the South African coastline. Magic! NATURE RESERVES and FOREST: Featherbed Nature Reserve (seen from the Lodge), the Knysna Forest, Robberg Nature Reserve and the Tsitsikamma forest are all within a 60 minute drive from the lodge and are must dos! WILDLIFE SANTUARIES: (All within 40 min drive) Knysna Elephant Park, Monkeyland and Birds of Eden are brilliant fun for the whole family. ADRENALIN SPORTS: Scuba diving, abseiling, quad biking, canoeing, paragliding and of course; the World`s Highest Bungy Jump are all within 40 minutes drive from the Lodge.
