Barton Villas Description
Barton, in South Africa's Western Cape province, is located off the R43 road leading to Hermanus. Lying at the foot of the Hottentot Hollands mountain range in the Botriver valley it borders the Kogelberg National Eco Park on the one side and looks across the valley to the Bablionsberg mountains on the other. It is just one hour's drive from Cape Town International Airport and twenty minutes from Hermanus and the beaches of the South Atlantic ocean. Located on a working vineyard, are four Tuscan-style self-catering luxury mountainside villas each with spectacular views across the valley down to Walker Bay in the distance and the Kogelberg Nature Reserve. Eachvilla has three double or twin bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The spacious living areas have well-equipped open-plan kitchens with dishwasher and laundry facilities. Living rooms have DSTV and a log fire. Each villa has its own pool, jacuzzi built into the rocks and gazebo. Three of the pools, one of which, is indoors, are solar heated. Cleaning service can be provided on request. internet and Wi-Fi connection.

Also other wineries in area for wine tasting Restaurants & Coffee shops - The area has a number of excellent hotels, restaurants and coffee shops within short driving distance Walking and trekking - Visitors can hike through the Kogelberg National Eco Park's many well-maintained trails at Bettys Bay Whale watching - Guests can watch whales from several beaches and headlands in the vicinity, or take a whale watching boat trip from Hermanus in the June to December months Diving - White shark cage diving can be arranged at Gansbaai. Scenic drives - There are a number of world-class scenic drives within a short distance of Barton. Destinations include Greyton, Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Swellendam, Gordon's Bay, Betty's bay and Cape Agulhas(southernmost point of Africa) Beaches - There are extensive uncrowded, sandy beaches around Onrus, Kleinmond and Hermanus. Fly-fishing - Barton's dam is stocked with rainbow trout, and guests are more than welcome to cast a fly. Tennis - Barton's hard court, with its mountain views, is available to all guests. Racquets and balls are available on request. Golf - Barton is just five minutes' drive from the Arabella championship golf course. There are also golf courses in Hermanus and Kleinmond. Barton has its own short hole and putting green. Fynbos - In the heart of the Kogelberg Eco Park, Barton hosts a world famous heritage site for fynbos. Horese riding - There are two local equistrian facilities and arrangements can be made for riding on the Kleinmond beaches to see the wild horses.
