Bloubergstrand Sunset Lodge Description
Sunset Lodge is a modern three leveled home located on top of a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is situated in a crime-free, very quiet and tranquil corner of Bloubergstrand, Cape Town. The house has magnificent views from private balconies of both the ocean and Robben Island. The beaches are a short walk down the hill. The house has its own swimming pool, a cozy sunroom and a sundeck for sun worshippers, as well as an extremely comfortable lounge with a small library of novels and factual books. Tea and coffee are always on the boil, and there is a well stocked bar cabinet. The Lodge has extremely high quality finishes in every room and offers four en-suite bedrooms and one two-roomed family suite. All rooms have MNet and parking is off-street behind security gates.
AREA INFORMATION

Bloubergstrand is a seaside village 20 minutes drive from the centre of Cape Town. It is crime-free and un-crowded and is world renowned for it's sparkling white clean beaches and magnificent view of Table Mountain across Table Bay.

Although it is a small village, it has a strong infrastructure and all amenities are in the area including the most modern shopping centres, movie houses, gyms and health clubs, high quality restaurants, and critical medical care centres.

Popular in the area are the beach-side bistros and cafes where you can enjoy a seafood snack and a glass of crisp Cape white wine on the edge of the waves.

For larger appetites the area boasts some of Cape Town's finest seafood restaurants.

Bloubergstrand has always been known as a destination for families and nature lovers. There are many beautiful rock pools which are totally safe for young children.

Due to its relative isolation from the Cape Town city centre, the beaches are clean and uncluttered.

In the springtime whales and dolphins often come close to the shore.

For the more adventurous, the area is also well known for it's water sports. The most popular of these are windsurfing, surfing and rubber-ducking.

A number of "extreme" sports, such as wave-kiting and paragliding also choose the area for its long beaches and constant winds.

Blouberg Beach regularly hosts numerous national and international water sporting events.

From Bloubergstrand it is an easy drive to all of the Cape's other treasures:

  • V&A Waterfront(20 minutes)

  • Table Mountain (25 minutes)

  • Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (30 minutes)

  • Stellenbosch and Constantia Winelands (40 minutes each)

Bloubergstrand Sunset Lodge Directions

From the airport, take the N2 Highway towards Cape Town for ± 10 km and then take the M5 off-ramp to Milnerton (this is Koeberg Road). Travel along Koeberg Road for another ± 10 km (you cross the N1 Highway on the way), following the signs to firstly Milnerton, and then Bloubergstrand. At the oil refinery (on the right hand side of Koeberg Road), turn left into Blaauwberg Road (this is the M14). Keep traveling down Blaauwberg Road all the way to the beach where you will come to a traffic circle. Turn right at the circle into Marine Drive and travel exactly 2km until you come across Perlemoen Drive on your right. Turn right in Perlemoen and then after 50m you will hit a T-junction where you again turn right. Keep on this road as it winds up the hill. This road becomes Gull Road. Sunset Lodge is at the end of Gull Road (No 41) and is a very large white double storey house.
