Bloubergstrand is a seaside village 20 minutes drive from the centre of Cape Town. It is crime-free and un-crowded and is world renowned for it's sparkling white clean beaches and magnificent view of Table Mountain across Table Bay.
Although it is a small village, it has a strong infrastructure and all amenities are in the area including the most modern shopping centres, movie houses, gyms and health clubs, high quality restaurants, and critical medical care centres.
Popular in the area are the beach-side bistros and cafes where you can enjoy a seafood snack and a glass of crisp Cape white wine on the edge of the waves.
For larger appetites the area boasts some of Cape Town's finest seafood restaurants.
Bloubergstrand has always been known as a destination for families and nature lovers. There are many beautiful rock pools which are totally safe for young children.
Due to its relative isolation from the Cape Town city centre, the beaches are clean and uncluttered.
In the springtime whales and dolphins often come close to the shore.
For the more adventurous, the area is also well known for it's water sports. The most popular of these are windsurfing, surfing and rubber-ducking.
A number of "extreme" sports, such as wave-kiting and paragliding also choose the area for its long beaches and constant winds.
Blouberg Beach regularly hosts numerous national and international water sporting events.
