Blyde River Canyon Lodge Description
Nestled between the majestic Drakensberg Mountains and the sparkling clear waters of the Blyde River, Blyde River Canyon Lodge offers local and international travellers a unique bush experience. The Lodge is set in an 85 hectare Botanical Reserve which boasts a wealth of fauna and flora. Not only is the Blyde River Canyon Lodge a unique holiday experience, but is also “home away from home” for many astute and professional businessmen/women who make our lodge their regular place to stay whilst doing business in the area.
Blyde River Canyon Lodge is situated along the scenic Panorama Route in the Blyde River Canyon of the Mpumalanga/Limpopo Province. It is easily accessible to the Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Three Rondawels, God’s Window and various waterfalls. The lodge is just a 40-minute drive to the Kruger National Park - Orpen Gate.
The Lodge is also rated 4-Star Superior by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa – excellent comfort and quality with a high standard of furnishings, service and guest care. Blyde River Canyon Lodge is an idyllic sanctuary which lays in a shallow valley, soaring cliffs on one side and the tranquil flow of the Blyde River on the other. Places of water are places of life! Not only are the water courses of the Blyde River well populated with hippo and crocodiles, the Reserve is home to nyala, impala, wildebeest, zebra, Bushbuck, duiker, steenbuck, Kudu and bushpig. The towering Northern Drakensberg escarpment provides a canvas for nature to capture a masterpiece with each sunrise…experience it!

We are located at the entrance to the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. The lodge is situated four and a half hours north of Johannesburg/Pretoria.
From Johannesburg and Pretoria: - Take the N12 from Johannesburg and the N4 from Pretoria, past Witbank and Middelburg to Belfast. Turn onto the R540 to Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Take the R36 to Origstad, Strijdom Tunnel and Abel Erasmus Pass onto the R527 to Hoedspruit and turn right onto the Jonkmanspruit /Driehoek Road D1809. Travel for 14kms and then turn right at T Junction. Travel for 500m. Turn right into the Blyde River Botanical Reserve and this leads to the BLYDE RIVER CANYON LODGE.
