Cascades on 52 is a spectacular lodge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Town's most exclusive neighborhood of Bantry Bay. The lodge sits perched on the slopes of Signal Hill tucked in right under the massive outcrop of Lion's Head. A masterpiece of contemporary design, build in 2003, the lodge comprises of seven guest suites over five floors. The brief to the architect was to create a building that should capture as much light as possible, work with high ceilings, double volumes and oversized windows. That is exactly what a visitor encounters when he steps through the front door. He feels overwhelmed with the feeling of space and light. The main reception area is a double storey volume leading to the large open guest lounge. At this point it is probably happening with the first time visitor he will be irresistibly drawn by an invisible hand towards the large floor to ceiling and wall to wall windows leading to the terrace where he will stand still in awe with the most spectacular view over the Atlantic Ocean.

From the airport, drive towards Cape Town via the N2 highway. When the N2 approaches Cape Town it will merge with the M3 highway and becomes a 5-lanes highway. (You will see the very large “Groote Schuur” hospital on your right) Keep to the 3 lanes on the right and follow the N2, now down towards Cape Town (Eastern Boulevard - Sea Point). … control your speed, there is a speed camera on the downward incline!! Take exit STRAND STREET (left side exit) Strand Street takes you right through the centre of Cape Town. When you have crossed the entire centre of the city, Strand Street will start to go up Signal Hill. Beyond the traffic lights on top of the hill, Strand Street will become High Level Road. Continuae to drive, straight ahead, now along High Level Road until the very end of the street (approx. 2,5 Km) Turn left into Avenue Fresnaye, climb the hill a little further and turn right into Ocean View Drive. 300 meter further on Ocean View Drive you will come to a fork in the road.
