Four Flies Nature Farm is situated between Carolina and Machadodorp on the edge of the Mpumalanga Highveld. Hidden in a valley in the heart of the mist belt, the farm is a haven of peace and tranquility. This beautiful piece of land is characterized by rolling grass fields and splendid views on the surrounding mountains. A small stream meanders through the valley and three dams add to the quiet ambiance of the farm. Dragon Fly, the comfortable-luxury, four star, self-catering guest house, can easily accommodate eleven people. It features two large bedrooms with double beds and a smaller bedroom with two single beds. A very spacious loft has a double bed and two single beds. All linen is provided and feathered duvets and comforters make for luxurious comfort. There are two bathrooms, one with a delightful deep bath and the other with a shower. Bath towels are provided. A large lounge/living area has a jet master and comfortable seating for leisurely hours with family and friends. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, microwave and fridge/freezer combination. Braais can be held in the built-in braai on the large covered veranda, whilst enjoying the exquisite views on the faraway mountains. The house is a mere 150m walk through a blue gum stand to the three dams. Take long leisurely walks and enjoy the rustic farm environment and lovely scenery, or go fly fishing or bird watching in fresh early mornings. Route Directions: From Nelspruit: • Take the N4 to Machadodorp • In Machadodorp, take the R36 to Carolina • After crossing the Komati River, look for the turn-off for Doornkop to the left. • Follow the dirt road through Doornkop Reserve to a T-junction. • Turn left and look for the Four Flies turn-off to the right after 3 km. From Johannesburg / Pretoria: • Take the R21 / N4 to Nelspruit. • Turn right on the R33 towards Carolina at Wonderfontein. (+- 55 km from the Middelburg Plaza) • In Carolina, at the 4-way stop, BP garage on your left, turn left on the R36 to Machadodorp. • Take the Kalkkloof turn-off to the right (about 5km out of town). • Proceed for 17,1 km on this dirt road until seeing the Four Flies turn-off to the right.
