Directions from Cape Town to Franschhoek: Follow the N1 freeway outbound from Cape Town towards Paarl/Franschhoek. Take exit 47, which is sign-posted as the turn-off for Klapmuts/Stellenbosch/Wellington. At the bottom of the off-ramp is a stop sign. At this sign, turn right onto the R44 in the direction of Stellenbosch. On your left hand side you will pass Butterfly World. You will come to a four-way stop. Go straight across this. You will then see the R45 which turns off to your left. Turn left here. Follow this road for some time, taking you past Glen Carlou, Rupert & Rothschild and later Vrede & Lust wine estates. You will then cross over a railway line, and find yourself at a T-junction. Turn right onto the R45 signposted Franschhoek. After 20 km you will enter the village of Franschhoek. Take the first right turn, into Cabriere street. Follow the road around the bend, continue along Cabriere street. Continue over 2 stop streets At the 3rd stop street the road forks, follow the right hand fork to the next stop sign. Turn right at the stop, now you are leaving the village. Continue with this road over a bridge till you get to Mont Rochelle security gate in front of you. From here follow the road up the hill, turn left at the blue Mont Rochelle board, till you get to the hotel.
