The Elephant House is an exclusive thatched lodge located in the beautiful Sundays River Valley only 8km from the Addo Elephant National Park. It is built around a series of courtyards with lots of deep verandas and comfy sofas, great for a relaxing holiday! Its 8 beautifully decorated rooms are all spacious with en-suite bathrooms(bath and shower) and king size extra length beds. All the rooms are fully aircon/heated with a 24 hour room service facility. We have 2 swimming pools with loungers, the perfect way to relax and enjoy a G&T! We offer a variety of activities - Game drives into the Addo Elephant National Park, a canoe trip down the river (great for birding), Elephant Back Safari, etc. The Elephant House can accommodate a maximum of 20 guests.

The Elephant House is situated 8km from the main gate to Addo National Elephant Park, in the Sunday's River Valley - a 45 minute drive from Port Elizabeth.

Driving from Cape Town: Take the N2 towards Grahamstown. After Port Elizabeth take the Motherwell/Markman offramp and turn left onto the R335 which is the road that will take you to Addo. Follow this road for about 50km and you will drive through Addo and cross a railway line. Elephant House is exactly 4km from this railway line on the left of the road and clearly signposted.
