Views Boutique Hotel & Spa Description
"Views Boutique Hotel & Spa is a superlative Mantis venue. It is superbly positioned on a beach front dune on Wilderness beach. The warm Indian Ocean waters play at its feet on a beach that stretches for miles. Ideally situated, an idyllic paradise from which to unlock the secrets of South Africa’s famed Garden Route and of Oudtshoorn and the Klein Karoo. It is a mere 20 minutes from George airport which has regular connecting flights to and from Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Views in Wilderness is the perfect spot for a relaxed beach holiday, a nature filled break or a vigorous outdoor adventure. Lots to do, lots to see, the place to make special memories. The maritime climate with moderate summers and mild sunny winters makes it pleasant all year round. It has the most sunshine and least wind of all coastal regions of SA.
Noted architect, Harry Burger, designed Views Boutique Hotel & Spa to maximize its magnificent setting on the Indian Ocean, where the sapphire surf and sky reddening sunsets are spectacular. At every turn, the eye is met by a glorious view.
Inside, chic, contemporary interiors by Lulu Ridgway are styled for comfort and luxury with clean-lined, smart furnishings designed and made exclusively for Views. Water and light are themes that play throughout, from custom-made lighting systems to a three-storey rotating aquarium showcasing handcrafted glass fish and life-sized glass seagull sculptures suspended in the Sea View lounge. Guests are invited to relax on the rooftop cocktail deck hideaway overlooking the beach and sea. Here, alfresco meals can be enjoyed or guests can simply relax with a book or look out for whales and dolphins passing by. Behind the cocktail deck lies the pool deck with its solar-heated rim flow pool that is reserved exclusively for hotel guests.
There are two restaurants on the property – An elegant dining venue which is also where guests are served breakfast with a view of the waves tumbling below; and another more casual bistro-styled restaurant with terraced decking spilling outside for uninterrupted sea views and sunsets.
Two guest lounges offer spacious areas for relaxation; one is the Sea View lounge where a complimentary business desk is available and the other, the Library lounge, located on the mezzanine level directly under the swimming pool’s glass floor panels which allow light from the pool above to filter through.
The hotel offers guests complimentary services including movies on demand in all suites and in the movie room, Wi-Fi access available throughout the property, a games room, use of the vitality pool and sauna as well as the gym.
The 18 suites range from mountain facing Deluxe to romantic Honeymoon, culminating in the stunning Penthouse Suite – all offering 5 star quality. 4 of these suites can be combined with an adjoining classic room to form a two- bedroom Family Suite, with private entrance lobby. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling picture windows to maximize natural sunlight and bring in the ocean and beach feel. Bathrooms have under-floor heating, heated towel rails, a private WC, a separate bath and shower and indulgent amenities.
Views Spa has four multifunctional treatment rooms, including one perfect for couples with its own hydro bath, a Tylarium Herbal Sauna, Floatation Pool, Vitality Pool and a Moroccan-style Rasul Chamber. Their mission is to provide guests with experiences that will enhance balance – in body, mind and soul. Views Spa aims to enhance well-being through the therapeutic benefits of the spa treatments and the soothing, thermal qualities of water. The tranquil surrounds of the Hydrotherapy Lounge and its outside deck, set above the rolling waves of the Indian Ocean, allows for a profound process of deep relaxation.
The Gym offers a range of cardiovascular equipment including treadmills, cycles, an elliptical cross trainer, vibration plates and a hydraulic strength circuit.
Views Spa was awarded Best Boutique Hotel Spa in Southern Africa in October 2010 at the 6th annual Spa Awards of Les Nouvelles Esthetiques South Africa in association with Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Paris.
VIEWS: OUR NAME SAYS IT ALL"
AREA INFORMATION
"Wilderness really is the Pearl of the Garden Route. This little village lies very centrally in the temperate Southern Cape, just 15km east of George. A veritable treasure of unspoiled nature, it nestles between the tannin-coloured Kaaimans river and the Goukamma Nature reserve. Its greatest asset is endless pristine stretches of beach, tranquil, secluded and fanned by soft sea breezes. During the winter months a special treat are the Southern Right Whales that can be spotted using the 18km of protected coastline to come in close to shore and calve.
The Serpentine river meanders through Island lake, Rondevlei and Langvlei making the perfect home for many species of wetland birds. This forms part of the 2500 ha of Wilderness National park, the eco-system here is rare and sensitive and rightly protected. Many beautiful walks and well marked hikes make this a paradise for nature lovers. Water sports can be enjoyed at Island lake so there is something for everyone.
Whether seeking a gentle nature filled break or a vigorous outdoor holiday Wilderness really does have something for everyone. Lots to do, lots to see, the perfect place to make special memories."
