ZIETSIES GUEST HOUSE Zietsies is situated on the highest koppie in Johannesburg - some people say second highest, but we believe otherwise - With a 180 degree view to the north, east and west. We also believe that our Guest House is completely unique and that you will not find anything like it anywhere else in Joburg. Our dining room has been built with glass and steel, giving it the feel of a conservatory in the sky with a view only surpassed by the quality of food we serve. All our rates include breakfast and we do a three course dinner on request. The rooms in our guest house have all been decorated by the owner herself and each one has a character of its own. The best quality linen, feather and down duvets, coffee and tea tray, fresh fruit, dressing gowns and a welcoming carafe of sherry in the rooms ensure the comfort and enjoyment of your stay with us. Please note that there are no televisions in our rooms, but there is a big screen television with all available channels in the lounge. An extensive and diverse library is at your disposal and why watch television if you can relax with a book on our deck with Joburg’s seven million trees at your feet. Or better still, with a glass of wine with Joburg’s twinkling lights all around you. KOOI This is the only room in our house without a view and therefore a bit cheaper, but not less attractive or comfortable. A superior quality king size bed with the best linen ensures your good night’s rest. The bathroom has a big sunken bath to relax in as well as a shower. KOOIER Kooier is a beautiful north facing room sporting French doors leading to a balcony with views all the way to the Magaliesberg, 70 km away. A superior quality king size bed can be altered into two twin beds depending on your needs. An antique reproduction slipper bath faces another French door leading to the balcony. KOOISTE A loft suite with a downstairs open plan lounge and bathroom area and upstairs a bedroom with a superior king size bed that can be altered into twin beds depending on your needs. The bedroom has an additional private staircase and entrance. The lounge opens onto a balcony with views to the north and has a comfortable sleeper couch for youngsters. BOUDOIR A fantasy bedroom straight from ‘Moulin Rouge’ with a superior quality queen size bed and open plan bathroom with a view of Johannesburg to the east and north. The room has an additional entrance and direct access to our herb garden. THE COTTAGE The cottage is separate from the main house and can be turned into a self-catering unit. The lounge/study has a wood burning stove for cosy winter evenings. The bedroom has a superior quality king size bed or twin beds and separate bathroom with walk-in cupboard. The cottage is the proud bearer of original canvasses by South African artists and is only available for a stay of two weeks and longer.

The Guest House is as centrally situated in Jozi as you can get. Nestled under the landmark Sentech Tower on the border of Brixton and Aucklandpark, we are a few minutes’ drive away from the bustling Newtown development, the trendy Melville restaurants, SABC, University of Johannesburg (the old RAU), Wits University, Millpark and Garden City Hospitals, Mediapark, the CBD, Braamfontein, historic Fordsburg and easy access to major highways - M1, N1, N2 East and West. The Joburg Theatre, Market Theatre, Apartheid Museum, Soweto, Gold Reef City Casino and Amusement Park are all in close proximity and on request we can provide you with a driver to take you to any of these places.
