The Capricorn region of the Limpopo Province is where the capital, Polokwane is situated. The region gets its name from the Tropic of Capricorn, the circle of Latitude that passes through the region. It’s the southernmost point where the sun will be overhead at noon during summer. Polokwane is the most important economic hub of the northern part of the country, and also one of the fastest growing cities.

The region is a popular stopover for Kruger National Park visitors as it’s the last city when coming from Pretoria.
