Rundu is a large town on the banks of the mighty Kavango River that forms the natural boundary between Namibia and Angola.  Rundu is the administrative capital of the Caprivi region, and thus an important center for trade amongst others. Rundu is the gateway to the famed Caprivi region of Namibia, where you’ll find many interesting things to see and do, including the Caprivi Game Park.

Rundu is fairly sizeable, and you’ll find almost everything you need in the town. The interesting mix of cultures you can only find in a town on the border, and especially so between Namibia and Angola. Angola, with is experiencing rapid efforts to rebuild it to its former glory would also make of an interesting day trip, although acquiring documentation to cross the border can sometimes be a problem.

Rundu derives its laidback attitude from the river, and it one of the best spots in Namibia to go canoeing or river rafting.
