Okahandja is a city located about 70 kilometers north from Windhoek. The town was founded in the 19th century by two local peoples the Nama and the Herero. The ton is the burial place for prominent members of these communities, and thus important in their history. The Otjozondjupa region of Namibia has many natural treasures including the Waterberg Plateau Park. The Waterberg National Park has an interesting landscape, and coupled with its relative inaccessibility, has many rare animals.
