Tete is a small city on the Zambezi River, close to the Cahora Bassa Dam. Located in the Tete province the town is close to Malawi and Zimbabwe. The town has a one kilometre suspension bridge that crosses the river. The town serves as a bus stop serving both of the countries. The surrounding areas are what draw people the region. The Zambezi River is the life force of the city, and the centre of activity. Outside of the city there are numerous Baobab trees that never cease to amaze.

The famous Cahora Bassa Dam is outside the city and is probably the main reason the tourists will flock to the town. The dam is the 4th largest artificial lake in Africa. Home to big fish, the dam is very popular for fishing and water sports. The Tete province has many 4X4 opportunities and is a nature lovers dream. This unspoilt wilderness will provide the ideal setting for pitching up camp and enjoying the night sky.
