The Cederberg region in the Western Cape is one of the most desirable to visit in the province. The area, outside of Clanwilliam, is dominated by dramatic rock formations, nature as if out of a photograph with the addition of rock art. The beauty of the majestic Cederberg Mountain range in unprecedented and a visit is a must if you have been to the winelands and Overberg. This region gives a totally different perspective on the variety of the province.
Activities include, climbing, camping and hiking through one of the most scenic mountains in the Western Cape. The nearby town of Citrusdal is mainly an agricultural center and a big producer of citrus fruits, hence the name. 4x4 trails are also to be found in the mountains and a very rewarding trip lies ahead of whomever undertakes a journey into these mountains.
