Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape is what is sometime described as Frontier country, and the town is rich with historical buildings and sites to explore. Grahamstown is located between Port Elizabeth and East London in the interior of the Eastern Cape. Grahamstown is sometimes referred to as the City of Saints, because of the 40 odd religious buildings that can be found in here. The town also houses a Victorian Cameras Obscura, a mirror that reflects the town in an interesting manner.

Grahamstown is home to Rhodes University, one of the better tertiary institutions in the world. The University has many historical buildings, and a walk around campus is encouraged, as the buildings themselves gives off nice vibe. Grahamstown hosts the annual National Arts Festival, one of the bigger arts festivals in the world. The festival showcases arts and stage productions which normally get debuted at the festival.

Grahamstown is set in a beautiful part of South Africa known as the Amatola & Stormberg. The region isn’t shy of Nature Reserves, and an exploration of the surrounds is encouraged as you’re bound to stumble across wonderful natural settings and members of the animal kingdom, that Africa is famous for.
