Middelburg is a town in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, and should not be confused with a town of the same name in the Mpumalanga Province. The town allegedly gets its name from the fact that it was halfway between Colesberg and Graff Reinet, important towns in the history of the Cape Colony. Situated in the Great Karoo, Middelburg has many interesting and unique feature that’s unmistakably Karoo.
