EXPLORE Central South


The Central South region in Namibia is home to the Fish River Canyon. This is Namibia's second most popular tourist attrction and also the sceond largest canyon in the world. The wilderness offers amazing views in very popular for the hikes the occur there. The orange river that forms the natural border between South Africa and Naibia, flows part the region is is very popular for trips downstream and camping along the way.

The Central South region, is home to the Ai-Ais/Richetrsveld Transfonteir park. This park encompoasses both parts of South Africa and Namibia. This  region in a surreal wilderness with peculiar plants and animals that inhabit it. THe region is also where you'll find  Karasburg and Keetmanshoop and the region is home to the Namibian sheep farming industry. Both mutton and wool is cultivated in these areas. The Southern part of Namibia is noted for it's extreme tempratures. It can get easily get above 45 degress celcius during the day.

The Central South region in Namibia is the the gateway to the wonderful wilderness that is Namibia, when coming from South Africa. The region witch includes the celebrated Karas region. The region is home to the quiver tree forest as well as the Karas Mountain range to the South. These intimidating mountains stand tall in the South. On the western side of the region is the mighty Atlantic ocean.
