EXPLORE Mana Pools

Mana Pools is a wildlife conservation area in the northern area of Zimbabwe, in the region of the lower Zambezi River.

This area is treasured by frequenting travellers to Africa, loved for the preservation of the wildness Zambia and Zimbabwe are so well-known for in the Lower Zambezi Valley. It is an area that is best suited for the wild-at-heart, with safari activities that aim to delight a passionate sense of adventure.

The word ‘Mana’ means ‘four’ in the local language, Shona, which is reference to four pools formed by the winding Zambezi River. As the lakes start to dry out, many animals are attracted to the area in search of fresh water, making it one of the most sought after game-viewing areas. The area is well known for having the largest concentration of hippopotamuses and crocodiles and in the dry season, having a high population of elephants and buffalo.

Mana Pools is a popular safari destination for travellers as the area offers unique guided and self-guided walks within the park, with the area being remote it allows for prime safari experience where the wildlife are not easily missed. The park has been rated the 5th best park in Africa.
