A small resort town situated in the Mpumalanga Province is Badplaas, also known as eManzana.
Badplaas is situated at the foot of the Dhlumudhlumu Mountains where there is a sulphur spring site that produces almost 30 000 litres of hot water per hour. Johannesburg is only a three hour drive from Badplaas and it is a favoured getawy destination by most Gauteng holiday makers. This has become a popular tourist attraction as the water is known to have some medicinal properties.
Badplaas is a birder’s paradises as offers excellent opportunities for bird watching and mostly spotted include the Knysna loerie, malachite hummingbird and the olive bush shrike. Hiking and nature walks can also be enjoyed on the old canal. There is a 9 hole golf course where you can relax and enjoy a round of golf.
