EXPLORE Hazyview

Hazyview is located right beside the Kruger National Park. A great base for families not wanting to stay within the park, Hazyview offers many accommodation options that are suitable for families, couples and individuals alike.

Situated just 35km’s from the Sabie Game Reserve and just 17km’s west of the Kruger National Park, the small town of Hazyview is perfectly located for those looking for a base of operations to visit these amazing reserves. First promulgated in 1959 with the building of the first post office

You are spoilt for choice when it comes to attractions in and around Hazyview. Blyde River Canyon, the third largest in the world, is just 30 minutes’ drive away, as is the awe-inspiring, sweeping views of God’s Window, and the restored, gold-rush town of Pilgrims Rest.

A small farming town, it is renowned for both its banana growing industry, as well as avocados, mangoes, coffee and citrus fruit. More than half the world’s bananas are grown within 100km’s of the small town of Hazyview. The ground is so fertile, it is said that if you plant a gumboot, you’d be able to grow a rubber tree.

The name Hazyview is derived from the shimmering haze that occurs during the heat of the summer. With many game reserves situated in Mpumalanga, just East of Hazyview, the town is well known as a base for those wanting to travel between the game reserves without staying in them.

The question of where to stay in Hazyview can be answered in many ways. It all depends on what type of property you are looking for. The area is packed with good quality accommodation, ranging from hotels, to Bed & Breakfasts, to charming country houses and retreats. The Fire Thorn & Sycamore self-catering cottages provide for those looking for a bit of privacy, while the Ashburn Guest Farm has a taste of relaxation and luxury that will have you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

With all the lush green surrounds of Mpumalanga, rivaling even that of the Garden Route, the accommodation in and around Hazyview provides luxury, nature and all that one could wish for.

Robberg Beach Lodge

What a beautiful Lodge, excellent service (5 star), location is one of the best in this country. We received outstanding service from a team that exceeded every need we had as a family. The breakfast is outstanding and they catered for my children's needs which included items not on the normal breakfast menu.
