EXPLORE Himeville

The town is situated 130 kilometres from Pietermaritzburg and it is the closest town to the famous Sani Pass and the uKhuhlamba Drakensburg Park. The town is also situated en-route to Lesotho which makes it a great stopover to refuel if travelling in that direction. The town is also home to the Himeville Nature Reserve which is known for fantastic birdlife and two antelope species and also great for nature walks.

The Himville Museum is another exicting place to visit if you are interested in the history of the settlers and agriculture as well as some Stone Age artefacts. It was built in 1896, and was later converted to a prison and now a museum again. Himeville has three golf courses and there is an abundance of rive and streams where various water sports can be enjoyed. The Splashy Fen Music Festival also happens here every year making it a great place to visit around the Easter Holidays.
