Vreugde Guest Farm Description
The meaning of the word "Vreugde" is joy or happiness and that is exactly what we strive to offer our guests. Vreugde Guest Farm is a small, friendly family business, offering accommodation that is comfortable, rustic and elegant. A winner of the Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) Golden Award for six years, we endeavour to provide a friendly welcome and high quality, personalised service at an affordable price. Situated in the heart of Namibia, just 30 minutes drive from the Etosha National Park's Anderson Gate, "Vreugde" is a perfect stop-over where you can sit back and relax, and recapture the beauty that you have experienced on your travels through our vast and beautiful country. Come and enjoy the peaceful tranquility as you relax in our beautiful garden, while your hosts, the Brand family, take care of your every need. We do not consider our guests mere tourists, and thanks to the small size of our operation, through that extra personal touch, we are certain that before you leave you too will join our ever-growing list of friends.
If it is your first visit to the area, we recommend that you consider a guided tour to Etosha National Park. This will not only give you an introduction to Etosha and its wildlife that is full of information and fascinating anecdotes, but will also give you an opportunity to sit back and enjoy the scenery while someone else does the driving for a change! You will then be better prepared to tour Etosha on your own the next time. Our guides have an intimate knowledge of Etosha NP, having themselves lived and worked in Etosha for two years. For those of you who have some extra time, you can also drive from Vreugde to other sites of interest in the area, such as Fingerklip, the Himba people, and the bushman art at Twyfelfontein and Farm Omburo-East. However, for those guests looking for a more relaxing stay at Vreugde, we offer short tours of our working cattle and sheep-farm. Or you can take a relaxed walk through the farm's mopane-bushveld as you try to spot some of our indigenous wildlife, such as warthogs, steenbok and kudus, or the great variety of bird-species.
