Situated in the heart of Namibia, just 30 minutes drive from the Etosha National Park's Anderson Gate, "Vreugde" is a perfect stop-over where you can sit back and relax, and recapture the beauty that you have experienced on your travels through our vast and beautiful country. If it is your first visit to the area, we recommend that you consider a guided tour to Etosha National Park. This will not only give you an introduction to Etosha and its wildlife that is full of information and fascinating anecdotes, but will also give you an opportunity to sit back and enjoy the scenery while someone else does the driving for a change! You will then be better prepared to tour Etosha on your own the next time. Our guides have an intimate knowledge of Etosha NP, having themselves lived and worked in Etosha for two years. For those of you who have some extra time, you can also drive from Vreugde to other sites of interest in the area, such as Fingerklip, the Himba people, and the bushman art at Twyfelfontein and Farm Omburo-East. However, for those guests looking for a more relaxing stay at Vreugde, we offer short tours of our working cattle and sheep-farm. Or you can take a relaxed walk through the farm's mopane-bushveld as you try to spot some of our indigenous wildlife, such as warthogs, steenbok and kudus, or the great variety of bird-species.

From the south, drive 61km north from Outjo along the tar road (C38), and then turn left onto gravel road D2710. From the north, drive 44km south from Etosha's Anderson gate along the tar road (C38), and then turn right onto gravel road D2710. Vreugde Guest farm is situated just 9km from the tar road along this gravel road (see map, to the right). Look out for the brown road-signs just before the junction with the D2710, and at the entrance to the Guest farm. The gravel road is well-maintained and suitable for all types of vehicles. Transport to and from the airport can be arranged on request.
