Be awed by sightings of dolphins and whales. Enjoy the rich diversity of bird life. Visit the Columbine Nature Reserve or the fascinating fossil museum. Get up close to the whales. Hike, kayak on the ocean or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful African sunsets. Explore this fascinating region from the central point of Paternoster, a historic fishing village. And where better to stay over than the Blue Dolphin complex. We offer a choice of accommodation, either in a bed and breakfast home (Blue Dolphin) or in a cottage (Baby Dolphin) on a self-catering basis. Both homes are situated on the dunes and offer uninterrupted views of the sea.

4 Star rated bed and breakfast build right on the beach. House is build in the West Coast style and consists of 4 en suite sea facing bedrooms. All rooms have heated towel rails, electric blankets, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and superb bedlinen. Blue Dolphin B&B is owner run and managed and an English breakfast is served on the verandha overlooking the beach. It is possible to watch the wahles and dolphins while having breakfast.
Only the freshest ingredients are used in all the home made preserves and jams. Freshly baked bread is served every morning with breakfast Complimentary coffee and tea with a piece of cake welcomes all the guests on arrival. The host normally have a complimentary glass of wine with the guests to watch the wonderful sunsets in the evenings. The sun sets over the ocean while most seabirds are heading for the rocks to roost for the evening, an ideal picture to watch while having a sundowner.
Endless safe, white beaches stretch from the house and guests will be in awe while collecting shells which are abundant on our beaches. Wild flowers are prolific in season when the whole area is transformed into a garden riot with colour. The Blue Dolphin is the place where hospitality was created and it is not necessary to sacrifice luxury to enjoy nature.

Paternoster is one of the oldest fishing villages in South Africa. White washed houses and the specific architecture ensures that this small village of only 2500 inhabitants is the gem of the West Coast. Traditional "trekking" of fish takes place in season and crayfish in season is plenty as this is the crayfish capitol of the West Coast

P.O.Box 92, Paternoster, 7381 From Cape Town Take the R27 and follow the West Coast road until Vredenburg. Pass through Vredenburg and arrive at tPaternoster. Cross the four way stop and keep on with this road. The Blue Dolphin B&B is the second last whilte house on your left right on the beach
