Highstead House Description
Highstead House is the perfect spot for independent travellers or volunteers looking for a modern, fresh and unique place to stay for the 2010 World Cup. It’s less than 20 minutes away from the football stadium and Cape Town International Airport, not to mention that it’s in a hub of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops for endless entertainment! This gourmet backpackers’ accommodation is divided up into three sections which each have a spacious living area and fully-equipped kitchen. The original house has 12 single bedrooms (which can be converted into doubles on request) and 6 bathrooms, and the two new sections each have 8 single bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. You can either book out an entire section if you’re travelling with a group of friends, or just book a room or two if you’re travelling in a smaller group.

On foot: The complex is less than a 5 minute walk from the Rondebosch shopping centre, where you’ll find two supermarkets, a chemist, banks, retail stores, coffee shops and restaurants. By train: The Rondebosch train station is also less than a 5 minute walk away, where you can hop on one of the regular trains into the city centre (15 minute train ride). By car: Rondebosch is in the ideal location, as it is less than a 20 minute drive to the Cape Town International Airport, the city centre, the V&A Waterfront and the Cape Town Stadium in Green Point! It is also a 5 minute drive to Claremont, which is famous for its range of bars and nightclubs, and the Cavendish shopping centre.
