Jabulani Bush Camp Description
Jabulani means 'happy' - with its abundance of flora and fauna in the surrounding indigenous forest, combined with the spectacular Drakensberg scenery, the Jabulani bush camp is a sanctuary for any nature lover. There is surely no finer way to relax than around a crackling fire beneath a star spangled sky. Located in the Northern Drakensberg, Jabulani offers you the ideal location to relax and unwind in a magnificent setting situated within easy striking distance from Johannesburg (3 1/2 hours) and Durban (2 1/2 hours). The camp caters for all tastes and appeals to young and old alike, for family holidays or weekend getaways. The bush camp features a unique combination of both thatched and tented 'A' frame accommodation units, hidden amongst the vegetation for that extra bit of privacy. It is illuminated by solar power and paraffin lamps. En-suite units provide accommodation for two people. The family units consist of a downstairs room, a loft with twin beds and accommodate up to four people. Linen is provided and ablution facilities are shared. The communal lounge and dining area, together with a fully equipped kitchen and braai lapa, enable you to relax and enjoy the ambiance of the camp. Catering can be provided on request, with friendly camp staff to cater for your every need. The camp grounds cover a sprawling area, which includes well stocked bass dams, along with large areas of indigenous forest. Horse riding with experienced guides take you on a trail through strolling savannah where you will be greeted with magnificent views and abundant game sighting. Other activities at the bush camp include hiking and bird watching to mention but a few. In and around the area, covering a radius of 75km, you can enjoy full day drives or hikes to the top of the Amphitheatre, various restaurants, hotels and arts & crafts. Other places of interest include the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park (Royal Natal/Tugela Gorge), Sterkfontien Dam and vulture feeding spot, Spioenkop Game Reserve and Battlefield
