I trundled through vineyards and more vineyards, fruit trees (apples, pears and plums), past grazing springbok, eland, tame ostriches, horses, cows, blue crane (twelve of them), past the Reebok river, a large oak tree and finally I arrived at the Cluver family?s early eighteenth-century house, mule stable and school. What an estate! All 2,000 hectares of it! And the Cluvers set their substantial - and one assumes very time-consuming - wine and fruit production to one side in order to accommodate, welcome and feed their guests.....
