EXPLORE Eastern Highlands (Zimbabwe)

The Eastern Highlands is a mountain range and one of four physiographic divisions of Zimbabwe

The Eastern Highlands mountain range is a land of mountains, national parks and secluded getaways – the ideal destination to escape reality and seeking isolation. The mountain range features three distinct mountain areas: Zimabwe’s highest mountain and second tallest waterfall in Africa at Nyanga National Park. The Chimanimani National Park, furthest south of the highlands, is often referred to as a hiker’s paradise, perfect for an outdoors holiday. Lastly, located closest to the city of Mutare, Bvumba Mountains present botanical gardens, forests and panoramic views of the highlands that will remain etched in your memory.

Stretching along the borders of Zimbabwe and Mozambique, the Eastern Highlands has a cool, wet and tropical climate; with heavy mists and dew that cover the landscape, the Indian Ocean flows into the Zambezi and Save River, an eerie romance befalls all visitors. Waterfalls, streams, rich vegetation and an array of wildlife are found throughout the highlands with subtle differences as the landscape unfolds into its various physiographic divisions.

Accommodation in Eastern Highlands consists of a variety of luxurious hotels, outback safari lodges, welcoming guest houses and beautiful self-catering accommodation. Besides the fantastic Zimbabwean hospitality, Eastern Highlands accommodation is friendly, comfortable and fitting for all.

Robberg Beach Lodge

What a beautiful Lodge, excellent service (5 star), location is one of the best in this country. We received outstanding service from a team that exceeded every need we had as a family. The breakfast is outstanding and they catered for my children's needs which included items not on the normal breakfast menu.
