50 kilometers west of Mossel Bay is a quaint village known as Albertinia lies.
This old village was established on the Grootfontein farm and was named after the first Dutch Reformed Church minister to serve the community, Johannes Rudolph Albertyn. Albertinia also lies at the food of the Langberg Mountains which forms a spectacular backdrop to the town. Albertinia is home to the Aloe ferox, which grown naturally which has led to the formation of 2 large aloe factories producing different products .
Albertinia is also popular as it marks the end of the Klein Karoo Wine Route which begins in Montagu. Here, you can enjoy wine tours and have a taste of some of South Africa’s best organically cultivated wines. The Reins Nature Reserve is also closely located and it makes a great hiking spot. Other adventure activities such as bungee jumping and a round of golf can also be enjoyed at the Gourits River Bridge, just outside Albertinia.

What a beautiful Lodge, excellent service (5 star), location is one of the best in this country. We received outstanding service from a team that exceeded every need we had as a family.
