This regions ancient history can further be observed at the West Coast Fossil Park located minutes out of town.
Langebaan is an internationally acclaimed Ramsar Site for its importance as a wetland and is where the world’s largest breeding colony of black harriers can be found. It is also a well knowns ornithological capital of South Africa, having recorded the largest oyster shell deposits in the world.
