EXPLORE Robertson

Known as “the small town with a big heart”, Robertson is nestled at the base of the Langeberg mountains along the Breede River. Founded in 1853, it is historically rich, with a story around every corner. It is a mere 90 minute drive from Cape Town and is, without a doubt, one of the most attractive Cape Winelands towns.

The classic Victorian architecture, jacaranda-lined streets and manicured gardens create a fairy-tale feel and the small town exudes a warm welcome to everyone that visits or passes through. While the atmosphere is tranquil, the town is anything but sleepy. At the heart of Route 62, one of the longest wine routes in the world, Robertson boasts a wide host of activities.

With over 50 wine estates in the valley, and many more in neighbouring areas like Montague and Somerset West, wine tasting is a must. Visit the Robertson Art Gallery and enjoy their local artwork and impressive collection of 925 sterling silver jewellery. Delight your senses and go brandy tasting at the Klipdrift Brandy Distillery. Cruise down the Breede River, or hike and picnic in the picturesque mountains. Make sure you attend one of their fresh produce market, as the Breede River Valley is known for it’s homemade jams and preserves, dried fruit and warm-out-the-oven farm-style bread. You can even get a lay of the land and go skydiving! You won’t be left wanting after your Robertson getaway.

When it comes to Robertson accommodation, you’ll be treated to venues that pride themselves in comfort and elegance. Robertson self-catering accommodation and guest farms will allow you to take your holiday at your own pace.

Guest Story: A perfect family beach holiday in Plettenberg Bay

Robberg Beach Lodge

What a beautiful Lodge, excellent service (5 star), location is one of the best in this country. We received outstanding service from a team that exceeded every need we had as a family. The breakfast is outstanding and they catered for my children's needs which included items not on the normal breakfast menu.
