Shakaskraal is a town located on the R102 in the KwaZulu Natal Province of South Africa.
The town’s name is derived from the fact that it was the area was the Royal Military homestead of King Shaka. Shakaskraal is situated halfway between Ballito and Stanger and its economy is largely boosted by sugar cane farming. The town is famous for its Mosque that boasts tower domes that are easily identifiable in the town.
The town has largely remained very cultural and for those interested in learning more about the Zulu as well as the Indian culture, this is the perfect place to be. If animals give you a sense of adventure, the Flag Animal Farm is an exciting spot to keep you day entertained. There is a cozy coffee shop where you can relax, or you can simply enjoy a picnic in the tranquil gardens. Pony and horse riding are some other activities available.
