EXPLORE Capricorn

Capricorn, named after the Tropic of Capricorn is one on the districts in Limpopo.

The district was named Capricorn as the Tropic of Capricorn runs through it. It’s the southernmost point where the sun will be overhead at noon during summer. Polokwane is the most important economic hub of the northern part of the country, and also one of the fastest growing cities.

The region is a popular stopover for Kruger National Park visitors as it’s the last city when coming from Pretoria. It’s also in close proximity to Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Botswana, the neighboring Southern African countries. The favorable weather conditions of the region make it a year round summer town, and the surrounding Bushveld Savannah is evidence of this.

The Capricorn region is home to an assortment of interesting cultural activities. There is an abundance of rock art as well remains of ancient man, and his lifestyle. The region is where the bushveld really begins and the African savannah surrounding will inspire and relax your senses. The popularity of this region as a stopover and pass through point and the value for money makes this region a must even if you’re not going to pass through. The locals are friendly and the North Sotho culture will dazzle and intrigue you!

If you are planning you net trip to the area, accommodation in Capricorn is widely offered and you are spoilt for choice. With a range of affordable guest lodges, guest farms and camping sites to luxury hotels and safari lodges, Capricorn accommodation offers the perfect base to explore the area.

Robberg Beach Lodge

What a beautiful Lodge, excellent service (5 star), location is one of the best in this country. We received outstanding service from a team that exceeded every need we had as a family. The breakfast is outstanding and they catered for my children's needs which included items not on the normal breakfast menu.
