Sun City, an African experience like no other. The luxury casino resort is one of the most popular holiday destinations in South Africa and includes the Palace of Lost City.
The Royal Bafokeng Stadium received an upgrade for the 2010 FIFA World Cup to create an additional 4, 000 seats. The stadium currently seats 42, 000 spectators. The stadium also received minor upgrades that include new electronic scoreboards, the floodlights, public address system and new seats.
The stadium will host six games during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Five group stage matches and one second round match. The matches will happen on the 12th, 15th, 19th, 22nd and the 24th of June. The second round match is scheduled to kick off on the 24th of June. This action will ensure Rustenburg, considered by some to be the fastest growing city in South Africa, to be buzzing with activities.
Rustenburg is a unique city with strong Voortrekker and Bafokeng influences. The city has in the past been the location of great battles during the Boer war.
The highveld of South Africa is a beautiful bushveld savannah, and the nearby Magaliesberg Mountain Range and Pilanesberg National Park will leave a lasting impression. The Hartebeespoort Dam, a popular relaxing spot is also located in the province.
