Vrede-Oord Guest Farm is situated at the foot of the Cederberg mountain range, one of the Western Cape’s best kept secrets. Each guestroom is ensuite, with private entrance, refrigerator and air-conditioning. Breakfast is served on the ‘stoep’ or in the farmhouse, depending on the weather. Guests have a choice between English or continental breakfast. Coffee and tea facilities in each room, and Belgian beer for those warm moments. There is also a self-catering flat with separate bathroom, bedroom and fully equipped kitchen. Every unit offers easy access to the swimming pool and the garden. Clanwilliam is an ideal place to stay when you want to discover the Cederberg mountains, and offers a splendid variety of wild spring flowers during the flower season (August-September). It is also a welcome stop-over between Cape town and Namibia or the Northern Cape. Vredeoord Guest farm is also a working citrus farm, guests are welcome to take a walk through the orchards and taste freshly picked oranges or clementines during harvesting season (April till September). The farm borders the Olifantsriver, which forms part of the irrigation scheme providing domestic and agricultural water from the Clanwilliam dam up till Vredendal and Klawer. The Olifanstriver valley is well known for the production of potatoes, rooibos tea, watermelons, wine- and table grapes and the best quality citrus.
