CHIKANKA is an archipelago of three islands. These cover about 600 acres depending on the lake level. The Islands are populated with a variety of wildlife such as Zebra, Kudu, Waterbuck, Hippo and other smaller game. Activities include game walks, bird watching, fishing and canoeing. CHIKANKA ISLAND is also a stargazer's paradise and a perfect escape for the true African bush lover.
The en-suite A-frame chalets are situated on the Eastern Shore with a breathtaking view of the sunrise over the lake. The spacious thatched dining area is situated on the waters edge where our friendly and attentive staff are on call for both catered and self-catering groups. Power is supplied by solar panels to preserve the exquisite tranquillity of the camp.
Fishing opportunities for Bream and Tiger fish are excellent. Day trips to Chete Bird Sanctuary are also possible. Here it is possible to take a game drive or walking safari.
